Fortnite 2026 Update Schedule Leak: Key Dates
The 2026 Schedule Leak
The remaining Fortnite update dates for 2026 have leaked, giving players the first concrete look at the year-end roadmap. Dataminers working through HYPEX mapped out eight upcoming patch windows, and VICE covered the schedule on September 11, 2026. The slate pins down Fortnitemares, a November mini-season, Chapter 8 and Winterfest to specific dates.
Fortnitemares 2026 Starts October 1
According to the leak, Fortnitemares 2026 begins on October 1, 2026. That is earlier than the mid-October timing many expected and matches a Halloween takeover that runs through October. The annual event brings the haunted map, spooky cosmetics and the seasonal quests, and this date gives players a firm start to plan around.
Chapter 8 Arrives in December
The leak places Chapter 8 Season 1 in December, with December 5 cited as the launch date in early coverage. Chapter launches are the biggest moments in Fortnite's calendar, bringing a new map, new mechanics and a fresh Battle Pass. If the date holds, Chapter 7 Season 4 will run for roughly three and a half months before the new chapter begins.
The November Mini-Season
Between Fortnitemares and Chapter 8, the schedule includes a November mini-season. Mini-seasons have become a regular part of Fortnite's rhythm, giving Epic a shorter, themed update between major chapters. The exact theme and mechanics are not part of the leak, but the slot is reserved in the roadmap for a November launch before the December chapter switch.
Winterfest and the Year-End Lineup
Winterfest is also part of the leaked slate, with a final update around December 10 closing out the 2026 calendar. Winterfest brings the annual winter event with free daily presents and festive cosmetics, typically running through late December and into January. The roadmap slots it after the Chapter 8 launch, following the established year-end pattern.
Are the Dates Confirmed?
Epic has not officially confirmed the leaked slate, so every date should be treated as tentative until it appears in an official announcement. Dataminer-derived schedules have been accurate in the past but can shift a few days either way. We will update this guide when Epic confirms the roadmap, and in the meantime the October 1 Fortnitemares start is the most solid date in the leak.
