Kingdom Hearts Collab Is Live in Fortnite — Everything You Need

Kingdom Hearts Is Officially Live

The Kingdom Hearts collaboration arrived in Fortnite on September 17, 2026, as part of the v42.20 update (Update 5.21). After being teased since February 2026 and confirmed by Square Enix on September 15, the collab is now fully playable. It launched alongside a separate Pac-Man crossover and added 42 new Sprites to the game. The KH collab had been delayed from an original September 3 date due to development issues, but the live version delivers four full character skins, a new weapon, and a lobby recreation.

Four KH2 Characters in Fortnite

The collab features four characters matching the Kingdom Hearts II roster: Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas. Each is available as an individual skin in the item shop at standard collaboration pricing. Sora is the lead character and also appears in the Fortnite Override spin-off mode. The four-character lineup gives the collab broader appeal compared to typical single-skin collaborations, and multiple outlets confirmed the roster through Polygon, Complex, and Square Enix.

Keyblade: The New Melee Weapon

The collab trailer confirmed a Keyblade melee weapon usable in-game. The Keyblade is the iconic weapon from the Kingdom Hearts franchise, known for its unique blade designs that vary by character and story arc. In Fortnite, it functions as a melee weapon with unique animations and visual effects tied to the KH aesthetic. This is the first time a franchise-specific melee weapon has been added as part of a collaboration.

Fortnite's Most Expensive Bundle Ever

TheGamer reported that the Kingdom Hearts Bundle is officially Fortnite's most expensive bundle to date. The bundle includes all four character skins along with accessories, weapons, and cosmetic items. While the exact V-Bucks total was not confirmed in early coverage, the "most expensive ever" designation places it at the top of the collaboration pricing hierarchy, above previous high-end bundles like the Naruto collection and Mega Man bundle. Individual skins are also available at standard per-item prices for players who want to cherry-pick.

Lobby Recreation: KH2 Opening

Complex reported that the lobby in Fortnite now recreates the iconic Kingdom Hearts II opening cutscene, featuring Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas alongside the heart-shaped moon. This is a visual-only lobby modification that plays when players enter the game lobby during the collaboration event. It sets the thematic tone for the collab and references one of the most recognizable scenes in the Kingdom Hearts series. Players do not need to purchase any items to see the lobby recreation.

Gummi Ship Car & Extra Items

The collaboration also includes the Gummi Ship car, a vehicle item that references the iconic airship from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. The Gummi Ship is available as a purchasable vehicle item in the shop. Additionally, the collab spawned a parallel Rocket League x Kingdom Hearts limited-time event on the same day, featuring a Final Weapon and KH13 crossover items. This cross-franchise event expansion shows Epic’s strategy of extending collaboration content across its portfolio.

Should You Buy?

The Kingdom Hearts collab is one of the most content-rich collaborations in Fortnite history, with four full character skins, a unique melee weapon, a themed vehicle, and a lobby recreation. If you are a Kingdom Hearts fan, the bundle offers the best value for accessing all items at once. Individual skins are also available for players who only want specific characters. The lobby recreation is free for all players. Given that the collab launched during Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, the items are tied to this season’s timeline and may not return in future rotations.
