Kingdom Hearts in Fortnite: Sora Arrives September 17
The September 17 Release Date
Epic confirmed the Kingdom Hearts collaboration drops September 17, 2026, across all platforms and regions. VICE, Polygon, IGN, and Insider Gaming all reported the official release window on September 14. This follows the earlier delay from a planned September 3 launch, which was postponed when the collaboration scope expanded from a single Sora skin to a full four-character roster.
Four Characters: Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas
Square Enix and Epic are delivering four playable characters from the Kingdom Hearts franchise: Sora from Kingdom Hearts I-III, Riku from Kingdom Hearts II and III, Kairi from Kingdom Hearts II and 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days. Each character receives a dedicated skin outfit with unique cosmetic variations drawn from their respective games.
Skin Designs and Bundle Prices
Sora's outfit draws from his classic blue tunic and Keyblade-inspired pickaxe. The full Kingdom Hearts bundle is expected at 1,800-2,200 V-Bucks, including all four character skins, a shared Keyblade pickaxe, a Kingdom Hearts-themed glider, emotes, and back bling. Individual character skins will rotate through the Item Shop at 1,200-1,500 V-Bucks each. The bundle offers the best value for collecting the full roster.
Item Shop Schedule and Rotation
Following the standard Fortnite collab pattern, the full bundle will be available for the first week after launch, then individual character skins will rotate through the Item Shop on a weekly cycle. Sora is expected to lead the initial rotation, with Riku, Kairi, and Roxas appearing in subsequent weekly shops. Bundle availability may be limited to the first two weeks before individual rotation begins.
Battle Pass Integration
While the core Kingdom Hearts skins are sold through the Item Shop, Epic may integrate Kingdom Hearts content into the current Chapter 7 Season 4 Override Battle Pass. Players who own the Battle Pass may receive exclusive Keyblade-themed emotes, sprays, or loading screens as free rewards. The Override Battle Pass currently features Gaming Legends themes, and Kingdom Hearts fits naturally within this seasonal framework.
