Epic Games has officially confirmed the Mega Man collaboration for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, and the Blue Bomber is arriving with a themed cup tournament. Polygon reported on September 7, 2026 that Epic revealed the Mega Man cosmetics alongside a Mega Man Cup, ending weeks of waiting for one of the most anticipated collabs of the season. Mega Man was teased at the start of Override through a cartridge in the override console, and now he is finally playable.
Mega Man Cup Date and Format
The Mega Man Cup takes place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. According to leakers, it is a duos tournament running across Battle Royale, Zero Build and mobile servers, with official rules not yet revealed at the time of the announcement. As with most cup events, players compete in a limited time window and are ranked against everyone else in their region, with the top performers earning cosmetics before the Item Shop release.
Cup Rewards and How to Win Skins
Players who finish among the top-rated participants in their region during the Mega Man Cup will get the Mega Man skin for free. Beyond the placement reward, every participant can earn extra cosmetics: the Mega Man emoticon unlocks after collecting eight points from eliminations and survival time, and the Override Buster Blast spray requires 25 eliminations using the Mega Buster, or just five on mobile. That makes the cup the cheapest way to get the collab cosmetics.
Mega Man and Zero Skins Revealed
Two skins are part of the collab. The standard Mega Man outfit brings the classic blue armor, while a video teaser confirms that Zero, the red warrior from the Mega Man X series, is the second skin in the set. Comparing the cup promotional image to earlier trailer footage, players can expect the standard Mega Man skin as well as a Mega Man X alternative style. The full cosmetic set follows the usual collab pattern of skins, pickaxe and back bling.
Item Shop Release Dates
Skins given away in cups usually hit the Item Shop shortly after the tournament ends. Based on the September 8 cup date, Polygon expects Mega Man to become available in the Item Shop on Wednesday or Thursday, meaning September 9 or 10, 2026. Players who miss the cup, or who want the Zero skin and additional cosmetics, will be able to buy them with V-Bucks when the set launches.
