Fortnite Override Gizmos: Prices and Sources
What Gizmos Are and Where They Fit
Gizmos are the equipment layer Fortnite added in Chapter 7 Season 4, and all five of them occupy the pickaxe slot. That means a Gizmo replaces your pickaxe entirely while equipped, which is why players carry only one at a time. There are 5 gizmos in the season right now, and all of them are bought with Sprite Dust from Service Stations scattered across the map. Service Station stock resets daily, purchases cannot be stacked, and you cannot carry more than one of each Gizmo at once, so the daily reset is the actual pace of the whole system.
Cheat Code Locator, 1,500 Sprite Dust
The C Cheat Code Locator costs 1,500 Sprite Dust and is bought at the Extraction Site Service Stations. It is the best value Gizmo for Mythic Sprite hunting because it reveals Sprite positions on the map, which turns a random search into a direct route. The Locator also drops from the Wrixel Ziggy Get Crafty story quests and from lobby hack codes, which means you can acquire it without spending Sprite Dust at all. Because it occupies the pickaxe slot, you swap it in only while actively hunting, then swap back to your pickaxe for combat.
Portable Extractor, 2,500 Sprite Dust
The Portable Extractor is the most expensive Gizmo at 2,500 Sprite Dust, and it extracts Sprites from anywhere on the map without taking damage. It is the only Gizmo that lets you pull a Sprite from a match you were never near, which is why it is the core tool of the Override economy. Three acquisition sources exist: Service Station purchase, the same Wrixel Ziggy Get Crafty story quests as the Locator, and Monday Cheat Code Day daily quests. The daily quests are the best method because each one grants 3 Portable Extractors, which is more than the Service Station sells in a full day.
The Remaining Three Gizmos
The remaining Gizmos are Spicy Tacos and Llama Supply Drop, alongside the Locator and Extractor already covered. Spicy Tacos and Llama Supply Drop both occupy the same pickaxe slot, so the daily choice is which of the four to carry into a match rather than whether to use one. Llama Supply Drop is oriented toward the Sprite Dust income loop and Spicy Tacos toward the in-match economy, which makes them substitutes for the daily grind rather than upgrades. Because you can carry only one, players who prioritize income carry Llama Supply Drop and players who prioritize loot carry the Extractor.
Daily Resets, Quests and Lobby Codes
Service Station stock resets every day and purchases cannot be stacked, so buying early in the day and again late in the day gives you the same total as waiting until one full reset. The daily-quest Gizmo rewards rotate on a weekly schedule, and Mondays always award Portable Extractors, which is why Monday is the standard day to spend your Sprite Dust. This season has 12 confirmed lobby hack codes, and 4 of the 5 Gizmos have an associated code, so a meaningful share of Gizmo acquisition does not require any Sprite Dust at all.
Which Gizmo to Buy First
If you are new to Override, buy the Portable Extractor first and only buy it from daily quests rather than from the Service Station, because the 3-per-quest reward is the only acquisition path that is not Sprite Dust limited. Buy the C Cheat Code Locator second when you start chasing Mythic Sprites, since it converts idle matches into Mythic routes. Skip Spicy Tacos and Llama Supply Drop until you are reliably hitting the daily Sprite Dust cap. More Gizmos may be added mid-season, and the Service Station does not reserve stock for future items, so spend down Sprite Dust early rather than banking it.
