Fortnite Walter Irons Skin: Toxic Commando Prices & Dates
Walter Irons Release Dates
The Walter Irons outfit is now live in Fortnite, part of the John Carpenter Toxic Commando collaboration. The skin launched on September 5, 2026 at 8 PM ET and is available until September 12 at 8 PM ET, giving players one week to unlock the Epic-rarity outfit. It is the first Fortnite crossover with John Carpenter Toxic Commando and introduces the character to the island.
Item Shop Price and Bundle Contents
Walter Irons costs 1,500 V-Bucks in the Item Shop, the standard price for an Epic-rarity outfit in Chapter 7 Season 4. The skin is part of the Toxic Commando set, so themed accessories may appear in the shop during the promotion window. Preview the outfit in your locker before buying to check how it looks with your favorite back blings and gliders.
Free Skin With the Toxic Commando Game
There is a second way to get Walter Irons for free: buy or pre-purchase John Carpenter Toxic Commando on the Epic Games Store, priced at $39.99, and the outfit is granted as a gift-with-purchase. The promotion applies to the PC version of the game, and the skin is delivered to your Fortnite account after the purchase is completed.
V-Bucks Grant Rules Explained
If you already bought the Walter Irons outfit from the Item Shop and then purchase John Carpenter Toxic Commando on the Epic Games Store, you receive a one-time grant of 1,500 V-Bucks in Fortnite instead of a second copy of the skin. Epic confirmed this rule in a support article, so you do not lose value if you buy both.
What Is John Carpenter's Toxic Commando
John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is a first-person shooter from Saber Interactive based on John Carpenter's original game concept. The game launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and the Fortnite crossover is tied to its release. Buying the game not only supports the new shooter but also hands you the Walter Irons outfit as a launch bonus.
Should You Buy the Skin or the Game
If your goal is just the skin, 1,500 V-Bucks is the cheaper route. If you already planned to play John Carpenter Toxic Commando, buying the game gives you the outfit for free, and the V-Bucks refund rule protects you if you purchase both. The promotion ends September 12, so decide before the outfit leaves the shop.
