Fortnite 9th Birthday Event 2026: All Quests, Rewards & Free Skins
Event Overview & Dates
Fortnite is celebrating its 9th birthday with a special in-game event running through September 30, 2026. The event introduces 9 birthday-themed quests tied to the anniversary, each granting 5,000 XP for a total of 45,000 XP across all quests. The island is decorated with birthday cakes, balloons, and presents scattered across the map to help players complete the event challenges. The 9th Birthday Sprite is also expected to arrive soon, adding a new collectible to the Sprite collection.
Complete Quest List: All 9 Birthday Quests
The 9 birthday quests are designed to be completed in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, with some exceptions. Quests 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are available in Battle Royale, Zero Build, and OG modes. Quests 3, 4, and 5 (Birthday Presents, Birthday Cake, and Balloons) are exclusive to Fortnite OG mode only. The quests include: Use any Emote once (5,000 XP), Eliminate 3 opponents while aiming down sights (5,000 XP), Throw 3 Birthday Presents from floor loot (5,000 XP + Choco-9 Cake Back Bling), Eat 4 slices of Birthday Cake at Named Locations (5,000 XP), Deploy 5 Balloons (5,000 XP), Hit 6 headshots (5,000 XP + Cake Crusher Pickaxe), Search 7 containers (5,000 XP), Visit 8 different Named Locations (5,000 XP), and Wish the Bus Driver happy birthday 9 times (5,000 XP + FNCS Sentry Back Bling).
Free Rewards & Milestone Unlocks
Free rewards unlock at milestone completions: 3 quests completed grants the Choco-9 Cake Back Bling, 6 quests completed grants the Cake Crusher Pickaxe, and all 9 quests completed grants the FNCS Sentry Back Bling. The 9th Birthday Sprite is available through Lobby Hack Codes, adding a collectible Sprite to your collection. These rewards are completely free and do not require any V-Buck purchases. The milestone structure encourages players to complete quests in order, with each milestone providing a new cosmetic reward.
Birthday Cake Quest: Locations Guide
The Birthday Cake quest requires eating 4 slices of birthday cake found at Named Locations in Fortnite OG mode only. The cakes are located at the center of Junk Junction and the center of Pleasant Park. To complete the quest efficiently, land at the center of either location when the match starts, eat as many slices as possible while at the landing zone, then quickly run over to the other location to grab any remaining slices. Both locations are small enough that you can clear the quest in a single match if you land in the right spot.
Birthday Presents & Balloons
The Birthday Presents quest requires finding and throwing 3 presents from floor loot and chests in OG mode only. The Balloons quest requires deploying 5 balloons found across the map. Both quests are exclusive to Fortnite OG mode, so players will need to queue into that specific game type to complete them. The birthday presents and balloons are scattered throughout the island, making these quests accessible across multiple matches. Completing both quests in a single OG mode match is feasible with efficient movement.
Tips to Complete All Quests Fast
To complete all 9 quests efficiently, consider these strategies: Start by queueing into Fortnite OG mode to complete the exclusive quests (Birthday Presents, Birthday Cake, and Balloons) in one session. Then switch to Battle Royale or Zero Build for the remaining quests. The emote quest can be completed instantly by emoting once in any match. The headshot quest and elimination quest require combat, so focus on aggressive playstyles. The container search and Named Location visit quests are passive and can be completed while farming XP in any mode. FNBoosting offers fast, secure V-Bucks top-ups so you can complete any event-related purchases instantly.
